Leicester City defender Ritchie De Laet, who spent the second half of the season on loan at Middlesbrough, rushed back to celebrate with his parent club on Saturday, clinching both Premier League winner and Championship runner-up medals in the same season.
The 27-year-old Belgian helped Middlesbrough in securing promotion from Championship on Saturday after which he rushed to King Power Stadium to celebrate the title victory with Leicester City.
Having made 12 appearances for Claudio Ranieri’s side before heading to Riverside Stadium on loan, De Laet was eligible to collect a league winner’s medal.
Even though De Laet made 10 appearances for Middlesbrough during his loan spell, he was an unused substitute in the last match against Brighton, which allowed Boro to secure second place behind Burnley in the Championship.
