30 Pakistanis detported from Greece arrive in Islamabad

Deportees have been handed over to FIA's Anti-Human Trafficking Cell

ISLAMABAD: At least 30 Pakistanis deported from Greece, arrived in Islamabad on Wednesday.

The deportation comes after the Pakistanis were intercepted while traveling to the country, in the European Union, without legal documents.

According to sources, the deportees have been verified, all of which do not have any travel records. They had traveled using the land route through human smugglers.

The deportees have been handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell (AHTC) of the FIA where an investigation will be conducted to trace the agent.

Over a quarter of a million Pakistani workers deported since 2013

Last month, a special flight carrying 42 Pakistanis deported from the United Kingdom arrived in Islamabad.

Sources said 30 of the 42 people left the country on exit permits, while the remaining 12 had regular Pakistani passports. The deportees were have handed over to the AHTC department for further investigation.
