BANNU:

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq demanded merging Federally Administered Tribal Areas with Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Monday. Siraj was speaking at a convention attended by the internally displaced people of North Waziristan which was held at Fazal Qadir Shaheed Park in Bannu.

The tribespeople who were evacuated at the time of military operations should be returned before the month of June, he said. Fata should be merged with Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, which would be in accordance with the proposed 22nd constitutional amendment, the JI chief said.

Packages worth billions of rupees should be announced for the rehabilitation of the affected areas’ infrastructure. Employment opportunities should be generated for at least 10,000 tribal people.

Medical and cadet colleges should also be established in Fata to provide opportunities to education. Siraj added unemployed youth should be given employment opportunities in order to end terrorism.
