QUETTA: Two gas pipelines were blown up in Dera Bugti area of Balochistan on Monday.

Official sources said that unidentified people had fixed an explosive device with the gas pipelines of eight inch diameter in Loti and 24 inch diameter in Pesh Bogi area. Both pipelines were destroyed when the explosive devices went off.

The supply of gas through these pipelines has been suspended to the purification plant.

The supply of gas has also been suspended in Dera Bugti town and other surrounding areas because the fire resulting from the blasts had affected the power transmission lines.

Gas pipelines in Balochistan have become a frequent target of attacks by militants in Balochistan. Similar cases have taken place in the recent past.

Aamir | 13 years ago | Reply I also raised my voice in my blog recently and can see alarming situation in Baluchistan. All Pakistanis should unite and force goverment to settle serious concerns of Baluchis. We need to provide immediate facilities like gas cyllinder distribution system for all Balochistan if terrain is not permitting proper gas supply. Sui and Norther Gas should spend hefty amounts as a corporate social responsibility along with Gas line to reduce anger of Baluchis. I stand behind Baluchistan's brother and promise to raise voice in ther favour. In any case we all need to think with in boundaries of Pakistan and should raise issues on right platforms. Long live Pakistan. Let the new generation take charge of all the issues.
