LAHORE:

An agreement on cooperation between the University of Health Sciences (UHS) and Bishkek’s International University of Kyrgyzstan (IUK) was inked on Wednesday.

University of Health Sciences Vice Chancellor Muhammad Aslam and IUK BoTs Chairman Asylbek Aidaraliev signed the agreement. According to its provisions, the two varsities would exchange faculty and students and organise research meetings to exploit scientific opportunities.

The two sides would implement the agreement in a couple of months.

Prior to signing the agreement, Aidaraliev said Kyrgyzstan attached great importance to its ties with Pakistan. “Cooperation between the two varsities will strengthen relations between the two states,” he remarked.

He said promoting education was a priority of the two governments. He said exchanges under the agreement would boost research and development in both countries. “Promoting people to people-to-people contact through educational programmes is vital for us,” he added.
