Islamabad United outplayed Karachi Kings in the second playoff of Pakistan Super League 2016, overhauling the Kings’ modest target with nine wickets to spare. Islamabad skipper Misbah-ul-Haq chose to field first and his pacers did not let him down. With Mohammad Sami’s 5 for 8 in 4 overs, Islamabad United restricted the Karachi Kings to 111/9. Simmons failed to convert his few boundaries into a big inning and left the pavilion with 19 in the bag. It was Ryan Doeschate who stayed firm with Bopara to lift the Kings innings racking up a valuable partnership of 45 runs. Skipper Ravi Bopara (37) was the top scorer for the Kings. United batted right on the money from the start of their innings and the Bred Haddin (51), Dwayne Smith (50) partnership easily ran down the target in just 14.2 overs with 9 wicket in hand.
