KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) charged on Thursday two workers of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) with the murder of political rivals and a policeman. The suspects, Abdul Qadir Hangoro and Syed Naeem, were arrested along with dozens of party workers during the March 11 raid at Nine Zero last year. They have been accused of killing two workers of Pakistan Muslim League-Functional and constable Sarwar in Lyari in 2013 and 2012, respectively. ATC-VI judge Abdul Naeem Memon read out the charges against the accused, Abdul Karim and Zubair, and asked the suspects if they confessed to the crime, following which they pleaded not guilty and decided to contest the charges. Memon issued directions to the investigating officer to produce witnesses at the next hearing on February 22 to record their statements.
