IGP Nasir Khan Durrani awarded two women police commandos for excellent performance during training at a ceremony held at Central Police Office Peshawar on Monday. It was the first time in the history of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa that women police were trained at the Elite Police Training Centre Nowshera.
A batch of 34 women constables successfully completed their first ever, six-month-long course by undergoing an all-encompassing training. They were trained for physical fitness, small and heavy weapon-firing, and judo karate. Fouzia Saeed and Safia Naz secured first and second positions respectively in the course.
While addressing the ceremony, the IGP appreciated the devotion, hard work and professional commitment exhibited by women. “Professional training is a prerequisite to achieve desired goals and targets in the line of duty.”
He told the recipients to fully equip themselves with all sorts of professional training to meet the challenges faced by police. The IGP awarded both Saeed and Naz with a cash prize and appreciation certificates.
