Horrific: Two die of strangulation, one found murdered

Two people died of strangulation on Monday night and Tuesday after their shawls got stuck in the wheel of motorcycles they were riding. Another person was found lying dead in a Samundari police precinct.


Police said Mobeen, 50, was riding his motorcycle on Jhumra Road on Monday night when his shawl got caught in the rear wheel of his motorcycle. He fell on to the road near Sanat Singh railway crossing in Mansoorabad. Police said that he was severely injured. Passers-by alerted Rescue-1122 and an emergency services team took him to the hospital but he died on his way there. A woman died on Tuesday after her shawl got caught in a motorcycle wheel. Surayya Bibi, 50, was riding behind her son Muhammad Umar when her shawl got stuck in a wheel. Police said that she fell on to the road near a bus stop. She had suffered serious injuries on her neck and died before she could be treated.

Separately, police found the body of a 35-year-old man lying in a field in Chak 139-GB. Samundari City police said that the man, whose identity is yet to be ascertained, was murdered. They said the man’s neck had been gashed and bruised. The body has been taken to the tehsil headquarters hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination, police said.
