Squash player Nasir Iqbal and wrestler Zaman Anwar bagged a gold medal each for Pakistan in the South Asian Games on Tuesday.
All in all Pakistan won 16 medals on the third day to take their total medal tally to 29 — four gold, 11 silver and 14 bronze.
Iqbal defeated compatriot Farhan Zaman 3-0 in the men’s final to claim gold. In the women’s category, Maria Toorpaki Wazir lost to India’s Joshana Chinappa 3-1 in the final to claim silver.

Anwar, meanwhile, defeated Bangladesh’s Mangno Marma 4-0 in the 125kg category to bag gold, while Mohammad Azad Butt lost 6-3 to India’s Pradeep in the 74kg final.
Pakistan men’s cycling team won silver in the 70km team time-trial, while the women’s team won bronze in the 40km team time-trial event.
Weightlifter Mohammad Tahir and Usman Rathore bagged a silver medal each in the 85kg and 94kg respectively, while Azhar Amir won bronze in the 105kg event.
Haseeb Tariq won bronze in the 100m backstroke, while wushu player Mubashra Akhtar won bronze in wushu nanquan and wushu nangun.
