Killed for ‘honour’: Police recover body from septic tank

The police dug up the septic tank in the courtyard of the house and recovered the body from it

Police have recovered the body of a 52-year-old man, who went missing around two weeks ago, from a septic tank in a house in Hasanabdal.


Mubashir Shehzad had lodged a complaint with Wah Cantt police that his father Liaqat Ali was missing since January 25. He said that a woman in Hasanabdal, identified as Nasim Begum, owed an amount of money to his father and he later found that his father had gone to Hasanabdal to get the money but did not return.


Police registered a case on Jan 31 and arrested four persons. Ashiq Ali, the woman’s husband, was one of the suspects.


During investigation, the suspects confessed to killing Liaqat Ali and dumping his body in a septic tank in a house.


The police dug up the septic tank in the courtyard of the house and recovered the body from it. During investigation, Ashiq Ali claimed that he murdered Liaqat Ali because he had an affair with his wife.
