A remote control bomb packing six kilogrammes of explosives was found under a bridge in Phase-VII, Hayatabad in the city Wednesday morning. However, it was successfully deactivated.
Some locals spotted an active improvised explosive device planted near the crowded Behram Market and called the police. The bomb disposal unit was called in, said the Cantt SP.
According to BDU AIG Shafqat Malik, it was a remote-controlled IED and contained six kilogrammes of explosives. His team managed to defuse it safely.
Seven days ago, five four-kg bombs were found and defused in Shaftal Banda within the jurisdiction of Phandu police station.
