A reconciliatory delegation comprising Sardar Bhaley Rakhio Lakho, Khalid Khan Jakhrani, Karim Bux and Syed Amjad Haider Shah visited different villages of the Jakhrani and Bhayo tribes on Saturday night and held meetings with tribal elders including Mithal Khan Jakhrani, Mehboob Khan Jakhrani, Dado Jakhrani, Sardar Gul Khan Bhayo and others, requesting them to reconcile in the larger interest of locals who have suffered greatly due to the feud. Elders of both tribes agreed to bury the hatchet through a jirga to be held in February under the joint leadership of Sardar Abid Khan Sundrani, Bhaley Rakhio Lakho and Sardar Sarfaraz Domki. Elders from both tribes will also act as advisers to the jirga.
It was also agreed to avoid armed clashes to provide a healthy environment for holding the jirga. In 2001, armed clashes took place between members of the two tribes over a minor issue, which have resulted in the death of around 50 people and left hundreds injured from both sides. Due to the conflict, the place has become a no-go area, and caused extensive damage to local agricultural, educational and business activities.
