Accountability: Ombudsman to hear complaints weekly

Hameed will also hold open court at Town Committee Talagang every Friday

CHAKWAL: A district ombudsman will hear public complaints against government departments every Friday. Major (retd) Malik Abdul Hameed, who has been appointed an adviser to the Federal Ombudsman, will hold an open court at the district complex every week. He will hear complaints against IESCO, SNGPL, banks, NADRA, the passport office, the income tax office and other government departments. All complaints will be disposed of within 15 days of receipt, he said. Members of the public can file a complaint, handwritten or typed, along with a copy of their identity card to the ombudsman. Hameed will also hold open court at Town Committee Talagang every Friday. In addition, advisers to the federal ombudsman have been appointed in all districts.
