Earthquake jolts Lahore, other parts of Punjab

The quake measured 4.0 on the richter scale, with its epicentre near Nankana Sahb, Met department said

LAHORE: Earthquake tremors were felt in parts of Punjab, including Lahore and surrounding areas on Wednesday.

"The quake measured 4.0 on the Richter scale, with its epicentre near Nankana Sahib," Muhammad Qamar, an official of the Pakistan Meteorological Department told The Express Tribune.

People left their homes and offices in panic.

The quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers, the official added.

No casualties were reported.

The earthquake comes weeks after an earthquake measuring 5.8 on the richter scale shook Islamabad and parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkwa.
