The Minister of State for the Capital Administration and Development Division Tariq Fazl Chaudhry said on Monday that foolproof security arrangements at public educational institutes in the city had been put in place.

“Parents do not need to worry as their children are getting education in a secure environment,” minister said in a statement issued on Tuesday.

The statement comes in the wake of the terrorist attack on Bacha Khan Universitu in Charsadda on Wednesday that claimed 21 lives.

He stated that so far Rs180 million have been spent to ensure security arrangements at all 422 public schools in Islamabad.

Minister said almost 90 per cent of the work had been completed.

He said funds amounting to Rs 400 million had already been disbursed for the installation of security cameras.

“All out efforts and resources will be made available to secure schools from any untoward incident,” statement read.
