HANGU:

A protest was held by locals in Darwezi Palosa in Hangu on Thursday against the provincial government and passport office director general over plans to shift the passport office to a new location.

They threatened to hold more protests if the government failed to meet their demands.

The protesters said shifting the office from their area will create difficulties for locals.

The current place is considered convenient and easy to reach. Protesters demanded that the K-P government take its decision back and warned they will hold more protests if their demands were not fulfilled.

The provincial government decided to change the current place of the passport office as they believe the place is unsafe for people to gather there.

The people of Orakzai Agency, Kurram Agency and Hangu have been visiting the office in the area for 10 years in order to have their passports made.
