Abduction bid foiled: Security guard at BHU fights off kidnappers

The police said the men had gone there in an attempt to kidnap Dr Sabir Shah of BHU

Unidentified attackers lobbed a hand grenade at a basic health unit in Gabar Bagh, Lakki Marwat on Wednesday. However, a security guard and locals managed to keep the assailants at bay.

The police have called  it an attempted kidnapping. No casualty or injuries  were reported from the incident.


According to police officials, unidentified kidnappers stormed the BHU in Gabar Bagh. The security guard opened fire on them to deter them. Locals also gathered and started firing on the men, and that is when the accused lobbed a hand grenade at them and escaped.


The police said the men had gone there in an attempt to kidnap Dr Sabir Shah of BHU.


However, the security guard and locals foiled the attempt. An FIR was registered in the case and investigation opened.


Subedar Major Islam Bahadur among others visited the BHU over the instructions of Lakki Marwat DC Muhamamd Bakhtiar and Assistant Political Agent Javed Orakzai, and awarded Rs10,000 to the security guard as a reward for his gallantry.
