Chairing a meeting on Monday, Sindh Health Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar directed officials to make the institute exemplary. Highly qualified staff will be hired for the institute, he claimed.
It was also decided in the meeting that the centre will provide better security to the general public and its staff.
The committee is being headed by the health secretary, Saeed Ahmed Mangnejo, while Civil Hospital, Karachi, medical superintendent Dr Saeed Qureshi is also its member.
The committee in first phase will recruit specialists, nurses, technical staff and computer operators. An electronic system will be installed to monitor attendance of the staff, said Dahar. The 14 floors of trauma centre will be made functional within the next six months, he claimed.
Mangnejo said that hundreds of consultants, surgeons, doctors and other technical staff from open market will be recruited. The records of the patients and stock of medicines will be computerised, he claimed. In this regard, a software is also being made, he added.
