LAHORE: The Lahore General Hospital has launched a website to provide information and raise awareness regarding Deep Brain Stimulation – a therapy for patients suffering from Parkinson’s disease. The website, www.dbspakistan.com, will facilitate patients seeking treatment and will carry information for patients’ families so they can read up on the disease. Neuro Surgery Unit II Prof Khalid Mahmood, who introduced Deep Brain Stimulation therapy in Pakistan, said this was an attempt to gauge the most out of scientific advancements. He said the DBS treatment was available for patients suffering from Parkinson’s disease and muscle pains at the Lahore General Hospital. The website also carries information on neuro surgery and the neuro-physicians, physiatrists and physiotherapists working at LGH. The website also carries contact information of the doctors.
