Journalists’ body: Tribune reporter elected PAS president

A total of 37 votes were cast in the PAS election, wherein Malik grabbed 26 votes

Hasnaat Mehmood Malik, reporter of The Express Tribune has been elected president of the Press Association of the Supreme Court (PAS) for the year 2015-2016, in an election held on Thursday.


PAS is a 42-member body of senior correspondents who regularly cover Supreme Court proceedings.  It has its own office inside the Supreme Court building and has say in legal matters.

A total of 37 votes were cast in the PAS election, wherein Malik grabbed 26 votes.

The list of the newly-elected PAS office-bearers for the year 2015-2016 includes: President Hasnaat Malik (Express Tribune), Senior Vice President Nasir Kazmi (Jehan Pakistan), Vice President Allah Dad Siddiqui  (Din TV), General Secretary Farid Khattak (APP), Finance Secretary Syeda Iffat Hasan Rizvi (92-TV), Joint Secretary Ali Andaz Haider (PTV), and Information Secretary Salahuddin Khan (Nawa-e-Waqt).

Faisal Raza Khan (Aaj TV), Aijaz Latif (Daily Kawish), Ihsan Haqqani (Khyber TV), Amir Khichi (APP) and Sehrish Khan (Such TV) were elected as members of its executive body.
