For the people: JI focuses on ‘Welfare Pakistan’

Siraj says party will eliminate poverty, unemployment if voted in

SWABI: Announcing the agenda of Welfare Pakistan, Jamaat-e-Islami Central Ameer Sirajul Haq said poverty and unemployment would be eliminated from the country if his party came into power.

Speaking to reporters in Panjpir, Swabi where he condoled the passing of Major (retd) Muhammad Amir’s nephew, he said the party had a complete agenda to bring revolution to the health, education and employment sectors.

Accompanied by senior provincial figures, he said JI comprised a progressive leadership which was capable of resolving all prevailing problems faced by the people of the country. “My team comprises scrupulous and experienced persons who will work day and night to bring a revolution in all walks of life to improve the living standards of ordinary citizens,” the JI chief asserted.



VIP culture

Siraj added after coming in power, JI would bring down unnecessary expenses, introduce old-age allowances and other facilities. He promised to bury VIP culture once and for all, adding the government would solely focus on the people’s welfare.

He claimed his party would provide a platform to the oppressed and downtrodden segments of society and continue its struggle for all times.

Referring to former prime minister Shaukat Aziz, he said power hungry “imports” would never be seen again after their tenures, while JI leaders had their businesses and families in Pakistan. Siraj said the children of the poor were being deprived of their basic rights like education, health and other facilities. “The JI government will provide high quality health and educational facilities for free.”

Centre-focused

He slammed the Centre for depriving Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa of its resources. He added when the provincial leadership started demanding its share in net hydel profits, it was silenced through a meagre amount provided by the federal government.

“No mega project has been started by the federal government in K-P even though the province is rich in natural resources,” he said.

Siraj added the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor would not benefit K-P unless the road was extended to Malakand Division and other districts. He demanded the federal government include less developed areas of the province in CPEC projects.

The JI chief said capitalists would continue to play their games by spending billions on elections in Pakistan, while the poor would never secure a seat in the assemblies unless the Election Commission of Pakistan implemented articles 62 and 63 which are related to the eligibility of a candidate. He said industrialists and feudal lords spent billions on elections to reach the assemblies, while ECP played the role of a silent spectator. He vowed not to let such events repeat themselves if JI came into power.
