PESHAWAR: The team working on privatisation of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) was stopped from entering the booking office of the airline by employees’ unions on the outskirts of the city. On the tenth day of its strike against privatisation, employees protested, and the offices and buildings of PIA were locked from 11am to 2am and the counters were empty, causing disturbances to passengers. Insiders privy to the matter told The Express Tribune two teams working on the privatisation process visited the PIA building in the morning to observe as they want to purchase it. However, they were stopped by the representatives of the Air League and People’s Unity. Protesters shouted slogans against the privatisation.
