Michael Fassbender looks like he’s on top of his game as the first few images from the sets of his upcoming film Assassin’s Creed have surfaced online. Looking rough and tough, the actor was photographed in an undisclosed location in Spain, where the movie is being filmed, reported IANS.

Although the photographs are not clear, Fassbender can be seen walking around what seems to be a desolate set in the attire of his character Callum Lynch from the film adaptation of the famous videogame series. Clad in garb that’s not signature Assassin white, according to Forbes magazine, Fassbender will be seen in a mix between the simple Altair outfit and perhaps the more subtle Black Flag look.

The upcoming movie is said to feature an original storyline, which seems to be different from the video games. Fassbener’s character didn’t originally appear in the videogames and was created exclusively for the film, Variety reported. But there is still a chance that some characters from the game may appear in the movie.

Will ‘Steve Jobs’ box office dip keep Oscar away?

In Assassin’s Creed, Lynch chronicles the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th century Spain through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories. He later finds out he descends from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and possesses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organisation in the present day.

Based on the popular series of videogames, New Regency’s live-action Assassin’s Creed will be helmed by Justin Kurzel and will release through Fox. The movie also stars Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson, Ariane Labed and Michael K Williams. Directed by Justin Kurzel, the film is slated for a December 21 release in the US next year.
