KARACHI: This is with reference to your report of December 22, “Sialkot lynching: Deceased brothers’ parents threatened.”
I wonder why our electronic media has gone silent on this issue. For weeks they showed brutal videos of the incident and now they hardly report on the case proceedings. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I have not seen any of the channels reporting that often the defending lawyer does not appear on the date of the hearing, causing delays in the proceedings. Also, the last hearing did not take place as per the schedule and the date for the next hearing is January 4. Four months have passed since the incident and the proceedings are occurring at a snail’s pace. I fear we will forget about the recent rape case that has caught everyone’s attention as we have the Sialkot lynching case and justice will not be served in either case.
