Unplanned population growth

Unplanned population growth

KARACHI:

In a country where resources are already strained, rapid population growth only exacerbates problems. Pakistan is one of the countries experiencing swift population growth without adequate future planning. Many people fail to realise that having a smaller family can help prevent these issues. Instead, the prevailing belief is that having more children is a blessing from God.

However, with the growing population, resources are becoming increasingly scarce. Many children are not attending school and unemployment is rampant. The government is failing to address this issue, and citizens are not taking it seriously. As a result, Pakistan’s population is projected to double by 2050.

Recently, the Population Department released census statistics that have raised concerns as it indicates that Pakistan's population growth rate is higher than that of many other neighbouring countries.

Pakistan is already facing a severe economic crisis. It cannot create enough jobs or provide necessary services. Given this situation, how can the country cope with a rapidly growing population? This is a serious concern that must not be overlooked. Future generations deserve a promising future, and we must act now to secure it.
