HARIPUR:
A district councillor of PML-N has been arrested on charges of aerial firing outside the office of the Haripur DPO.

According to a handout issued on Friday, two of Kholiyan Bala councillor Javed Khan Jadoon’s guards were arrested as well. Police said Jadoon and two of his security guards Faisal and Afzal reached the DPO office and resorted to aerial firing. The motive behind their actions could not be ascertained.

The policemen deployed at the office took him and his guards into custody and registered a case under Section 506 of the firing act against them. Police also seized two 9mm pistols, a Klashnikov and an AK-47 assault rifle from them.

A few months ago, Jadoon was attacked in a remote village of Kholiyan Bala during local government elections in which six of his body guards were killed and he suffered injuries. On his complaint, district council member Atif Munsif Khan Jadoon was arrested along with five of his accomplices.
