The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Thursday sealed Kasuri Fish at Dubai Chowk, Allama Iqbal Town, for using rancid oil for frying.


The Samanabad Town team of the PFA also detected poor cleanliness arrangements at the restaurant. The food outlet was found using a broken and rusty freezer and had improper arrangements for dish washing. Some of the workers could not produce medical certificates.

Madina Pakwan was sealed for operating without a licence. Biryani Hut, Shawarma Time, New Butt Pan Shop, MS Cold Corner and Chicks Fast Food on LOS Road were sealed for operating without licences.

The authority also sealed Shahi Nashta in Huma Block, Allama Iqbal Town, on similar charges. Jutt Milk Shop in Kashmir Block, Allama Iqbal Town, was sealed for improper arrangements for dish washing and for operating without a licence. Aslam Pakwan House and Suleman BBQ in an Allama Iqbal Town neighbourhood were also sealed for similar reasons.

Malga Restaurant in Johar Town was sealed after flies were found in the kitchen. Freezers at the restaurant were also dirty. Its restroom was too close to the production area.

Jammin Java Café was sealed for selling ice cream that did not carry an expiry date. The restaurant was also found using expired rice.

Hafiz Mumtaz Catering was sealed over poor workers’ hygiene. The catering company was also found keeping some pets in the kitchen. Its washing area was also in a bad shape.

The Nishtar Town team sealed Bismillah Juice and Food Corner at Madir-i-Millat Road near Hamdard Chowk for using sub-standard ketchup and some food products without expiry date. Bajwa Hotel at Pulli Stop was sealed for operating without a licence.
