Criminal minds: Bullet-riddled body found in Charsadda

An FIR was registered and further investigation is under way

CHARSADDA:


A bullet-riddled body was recovered in Charsadda on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Jamal Shah, son of Naqeeb Shah. His remains were recovered near a bridge in the locality. According to a police report, he was gunned down by unidentified men in Turangzai within the jurisdiction of Umarzai police station. An FIR was registered and further investigation is under way. No arrests were made in connection with the incident till the filing of this report. Separately, Sardheri police arrested 28 suspects in a search and strike operation. A large cache of weapons was confiscated from their possession. An official of Sardheri police told The Express Tribune 10 proclaimed offenders were among the suspects who were rounded up. “They were wanted for multiple criminal cases,” he said. “Two Kalashnikovs, three rifles, one pistol and scores of cartridges were seized from suspects.”
