KARACHI: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Sindh conducted a raid at the National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) office in Landhi on Monday and arrested an employee, Shahzad Arshad.

"Arshad was allegedly involved in the Quetta Town Cooperative Housing Society scam. His brother, Javed Arshad, is also wanted for the same crime but has obtained bail before arrest from the court," said ACE's special public prosecutor Arif Sitai.

While speaking to The Express Tribune, Sitai said that accused is a grade seven NADRA employee and millions of rupees were found in his bank account. The suspect is involved in illegal selling of land, he claimed.

A raid was carried out to arrest Arshad, who was later presented before special anti-corruption judge Gulshan Ara Chandio. The judge remanded the suspect to three days in police custody. In August, the administrator of the Quetta Town Cooperative Housing Society, Akhtar Pathan, was also arrested in the same scam.
