RAWALPINDI: The special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) hearing the Benazir Bhutto murder case will take up an application challenging the legal status of a statement recorded by US-based author Mark Siegel via video link on Wednesday (today). On November 4, ATC Judge Muhammad Ayub Marth issued notices to relevant parties to appear before the court on November 11, following an application filed by the council of former president Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf indicating that the recording of Siegel’s statement was not in conformity with the law. The applicant had challenged the legal veracity of Siegel’s statement, adding that the witness should appear in person before the court and record his statement.
