CHAKWAL: Over twenty operatives of defunct organizations were caught by police during a crack down against banned outfits launched in the district.

Police officials booked 20 men under the Anti-Terrorism Act on Saturday and have begun searching for their accomplices. Chakwal police apprehended Arshad Mehmood Kalia of Madina Town Chakwal and Chakwal City Police registered a case against him. Saddar Police registered a case against Nadeem Yaqoob, Ibrar Shabbir, Mureed Hussain, Muhammad Zamir, Waseem Abbas and Aamir Shahzad for actively collaborating with terrorist outfits in the province.  Kallar Kahar Police registered a case against Muhammad Irfan, Muhammad Din Gujjar, Babar Aqeel and Mubashar Hussain for running an unregistered madrassah in the district. Chakwal DPO Syed Ali Mohsin said the crackdown was initiated on the directives of the Punjab government and all DSP’s had been engaged to take strict and immediate action against any banned religious organizations in the district.
