Time out: Student fractured by alleged punishment

A head teacher was accused of subjecting a first grader to severe corporal punishment

ABBOTTABAD: A head teacher was accused of subjecting a first grader to severe corporal punishment in Mohalla Choonakari area of the city. According to Walidad, his daughter Salma Bibi attends class one at the Government Girls Primary School. After hearing about his daughter’s injury at school, Walidad said he rushed her to the  hospital, where the doctors confirmed her right arm was fractured. The victim told her father her head teacher, Shahwaz Bibi, beat her and pushed her to the ground, causing a fracture in her right elbow. Meanwhile, the head teacher was not available for comments when approached. However, one of her colleagues denied that corporal punishment was how Salma’s arm was fractured.
