Ied Blast: Two peace committee members injured

The incident took place in Chaharmang area of Nawagai, Bajaur Agency on Saturday

SHABQADAR: At least two peace committee members were critically injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off in Chaharmang area of Nawagai, Bajaur Agency on Saturday. An official of the political administration in Khar, Muhammad Ali, confirmed the incident. “Farooq Khan, a peace committee member, was going for evening prayers when an IED planted in Hilal Khel area went off,” said the official. “As a result, Farooq and another member, Abdul Malik, were injured.” The injured were first taken to Agency Headquarters Hospital Khar but later shifted to Peshawar. They were reported to be incritical condition. The area where the device exploded was cordoned off and a search operation was carried out. Pro-government tribal elders have come under attack in Bajaur and other areas over the past few weeks.
