Police action: Suspect killed during encounter

The deceased had been identified as Amir, son of Shah Jehan Baloch, a resident of Golimar

Two suspected criminals opened fire at the police on Wednesday morning while the police were patrolling the area of Garden West Road, adjacent to Lyari Expressway, which has reportedly become a hot spot of early morning snatchings.


During the police's retaliatory fire, a suspect was injured while the other managed to flee the scene on a motorcycle. The apprehended suspect succumbed to his wounds at the hospital.

The police recovered one TT pistol and five rounds of ammunition.

The deceased had been identified as Amir, son of Shah Jehan Baloch, a resident of Golimar.

His association with the Lyari gang war and his criminal record is currently being collected by the police.

District East SSP Javed Jiskani congratulated the police officers involved and announced that the Sindh IG has given a Rs300,000 reward to the police team.
