QUETTA: Balochistan Assembly lawmaker and JUI-F member Shahida Rauf on Tuesday expressed dismay over the mistreatment of women parliamentarians who endured a humiliating hours long wait outside the Governor House following President Mamnoon Hussain’s trip to Quetta. Rauf lodged her complaint through a point of order during the Balochistan Assembly proceedings. “Women parliamentarians were humiliated outside the Governor House when they went to meet the president,” she told the house. “Are we a security risk? They told us due to security we are not allowed to go inside.” In response, Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch said that during visits of the prime minister and the president, the federal government takes over all security responsibilities and that it was not an issue of the provincial government.
