BATKHELA:

At least 20 more patients tested positive for dengue fever on Sunday, bringing the total number of patients suffering from the virus to 154 in the area. “Three of these patients have been shifted to a hospital in Peshawar,” an official privy to the matter told The Express Tribune. It has become progressively difficult for the virus to be detected in the district. The equipment used to test patients for dengue has become dysfunctional at District Headquarters Hospital. Nevertheless, the relevant authorities are making all-out efforts to stop the virus from spreading. Speaking at a press conference in Batkhela on Sunday, the district administration and district health officials said the fumigation drives are being conducted across the district. An emergency has been declared at all hospitals.
