PESHAWAR:

The recently-made amendments in the K-P Universities Act 2015 will be withdrawn and the requirement of domiciles for admissions in universities, will be waived off. This was stated in a handout issued on Wednesday.

CM Pervez Khattak met the K-P Technical and Vocational Training Authority board of directors at the CM’s Secretariat. Khattak said institution management committees will be set up for all 67 technical and vocational training institutes of the province.

Khattak also approved Rs85.96 million for the establishment of the TEVTA Secretariat. About improving the machinery and technical education system at the institutions, he said that skills in different trades should be imparted so that those enrolled can find jobs in the international market.

“The K-P government is even ready to pay for the expensive, globally-recognised certification for this purpose.” He also ordered changes in the timings of the shifts, saying late shifts should not start from 11am but should instead start from 2pm.
