The women's cricket team has been given a go-ahead by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to visit Pakistan for a series.

The Bangladesh board president is due to return on Wednesday, after which the final schedule of the visit will be decided comprising of two ODI and two T20 matches.

BCB has already selected the 15-member squad subject to announcement in the media, and the selected members have already been informed to prepare for the trip.

“The tour in Pakistan is on. It has been told from the board to take preparation for the forthcoming series. The girls are positive and they are mentally prepared for this series,” said Bangladesh women’s head coach Janak Champika Gomage, as quoted by bdcrickteam.com.

“We didn’t play international cricket for a long time. This series will help us to identify our present condition.

Gomage also believes that this tour will help them prepare for the series against South Africa and also the World Cup qualifiers.

However, he also expects Pakistan to provide decent security to the side.
