Food standards: CDA workshop on hygiene laws continues

CDA director health services urged all stakeholders to cooperate with the agency to ensure quality food

ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) training workshop on food quality, safety and hygiene standards continued on Friday at the Pak-China Friendship Centre.

Speakers delivered lectures to owners, cooks and staff from various hotels, restaurants, bakeries and food outlets of the city.


Speakers said the training aimed to create awareness among consumers and food suppliers regarding food standards and laws. Speakers also delivered lectures on food safety, hygiene and health safety on the second day of the workshop.


CDA’s health services directorate and training academy have been directed to devise a plan to educate citizens of the capital regarding food preparation and supply. More training programmes are planned by the authority, along with strict monitoring of food items under the Pure Food Ordinance 1960. CDA director health services urged all stakeholders to cooperate with the agency to ensure quality food to the public.
