ABBOTABAD/ ISLAMABAD:

The Foreign Office confirmed on Sunday that 11 Pakistani pilgrims were among more than 100 people who perished in Friday’s tragic crane crash at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.

A Pakistan Embassy team in Riyadh, headed by the ambassador, had visited a mortuary in Makkah the previous night. “Based on documentary evidence available and identification of the bodies by relatives, martyrdom of six Pakistanis has been confirmed,” Khalilullah had said earlier.

Later, during another visit to the mortuary, five additional bodies were identified. “Accordingly, the total number of Pakistanis martyred in the crane incident in Makkah is now 11.”

Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yusuf has said that a complaints cell has been set up in Saudi Arabia for addressing the grievances of pilgrims.
