Two involved in attacks on FWO workers killed in FC raid

According to FC spokesperson, 12 terrorists were also arrested during the operation

QUETTA: At least two terrorists of a banned outfit involved in the killing of Frontier Works Organization (FWO) workers were killed during a raid by the Frontier Corps (FC) in the surrounding area of Nag in Balochistan on Saturday.

As many as 12 terrorists were also arrested during the operation, said the FC spokesperson, adding that automatic weapons were also recovered from their possession.

According to the spokesperson, besides being involved in the killings of FWO workers, the terrorists were also involved in attacks on security forces.

In a joint operation in Gawal Ismailzai area of Zhob, FC and intelligence agencies arrested two persons in suspicion of having ties with banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.

The suspects are being interrogated, said FC spokesperson.

Earlier, at least one FC personnel was killed in a firing incident near a petrol pump in Quetta’s Sariab Road.

The soldier was shot in the head and died on the spot, added the spokesperson.

Earlier during the day, security forces in an intelligence based operation foiled a terror bid which was set to be executed on Defence Day, said the Inter-Services Public Relations.

“The terrorist was arrested during the operation who confessed his links with RAW, he also confessed having planted IEDs in Quetta on two separate occasions which took numerous lives,” officials stated.
