Being one of the most high-status fashion weeks of India, Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2015 showcased an exquisite array of elegant avatars. Designers made sure to illustrate their best works on their celebrity models, who favourably strutted down their stuff on the runway that left spectators gasping for air. But who gave us the most iconic showstopper? Here are a few showstoppers that gripped our attention.
Shilpa Shetty
The Dhadkan diva did more than justice to the “Allure” collection by Divya Reddy. Mrs Kundra adorned contemporary bridal wear which comprised a simple high-waisted pink and yellow lehenga with floral motifs on the borders, teamed with a yellow choli that boasted intricate embroidery and mirror embellishments. The feminine pastel tones did wonders to enhance the star’s flawless olive complexion.
Ranbir Kapoor
The Rockstar hunk sauntered down the ramp displaying Manish Malhotra’s elaborate menswear collection. A four buttoned velour suit in a deep burgundy hue was hand-picked for Ranbir to capture hearts in. The blue-grey printed inner shirt gave the star a dapper essence with a tinge of casual flare. He characterised Malhotra’s anthology with class. We loved the lace-up moccasins — complemented the suit effortlessly.
Kareena Kapoor
The Heroine impeccably personified the ultimate dark angel, in a strategically moulded jet-black Gaurav Gupta gown. The well-fitted number comprised a mermaid floor-kissing cut and lots of sheer, netty fabric that gave us a peek at the star’s enviable curves. Adding glitz to glamour, Mrs Khan enticed audiences with a vermilion pout and sleek pulled-back hair that brought focus to the star’s superb expressions.
