KARACHI: We all know natural remedies are the best way to revitalise your skin. However, if you don't know what to use, here are a few remedies that may help you get over your skin woes.

If you want to get rid of acne and clogged pores, cinnamon, clove and ginger are among many everyday condiments that can be a part of your beauty regimen. Check out these four easy remedies for flawless skin:

1. Ginger

Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties which calm and comfort your skin. According to beautymunstagingerol -- a vital antioxidant in ginger -- reduces blemishes, acne scars, age spots and dark marks. It also protects skin cells from free radicals that cause fine lines and wrinkles. Ginger slices also improve complexion, whereas a ginger bath (or steam) is effective in treating eczema.

Methods:

a) Apply ginger juice mixed with honey onto your face for a radiant complexion.

b) Massage a few drops of ginger oil with one teaspoon of olive oil to soothe eczema and other skin inflammations.

c) Mix ginger juice with raw honey and apply it to your face to get rid of acne.

2. Clove

Clove oil is widely used for skin treatments. According to STYLECRAZE, the spice helps you get rid of acne and also prevents it from spreading, due to its antimicrobial properties. However, you must avoid applying it directly to your skin as it causes irritation. In addition to that, clove oil also exfoliates blemished and dead skin cells, leaving your skin clearer and healthier – so now you know what to do when you get a sun burn.

Method:

To use clove essential oil for the treatment of acne, it must be added to carrier oil in the ratio 1:10, where one part is clove oil and ten parts are carrier oil. Then leave it on till it dries.

3. Cinnamon

Cinnamon, when added to olive oil and brown sugar, can do wonders for your skin. Huffingtonpost suggests it can also be used as lip plumper – yes, now you really don’t need all those lip fillers. This spice also prevents breakouts. It can be mixed with sea salt, almond oil, olive oil, or honey to get younger-looking, fresh skin. However, you must avoid applying ground cinnamon directly to your skin as it causes irritation.

Methods:

a) Apply a little Vaseline onto your lips and pat a pinch of cinnamon on top. Rub the mixture for a few seconds and allow it to sit for a minute to have naturally fuller lips.

b) Make your own homemade anti-acne mask by mixing 3 tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of ground cinnamon.

4. Brown Sugar

Brown sugar is the cheapest and most convenient way to exfoliate your skin. It contains glycolic acid that is important for healthy skin, and is usually present in all expensive beauty products you find on the shelves. Additionally, brown sugar also moisturises your skin and protects it from toxins. Here are two scrubs suggested by Cosmopolitan that will leave your skin radiant and healthy:
