Paying tribute: Quaid’s birthday celebrated in IDP camps

A session on the basic principles of life is in progress for 557 boys and 456 girls.

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Village Development Programme (PVDP) in collaboration with UNICEF celebrated the birth anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah in Child Protection Centres at Jalozai camps for internally-displaced persons (IDPs).

In this connection, a special function was held at Shama Centre of Jalozai Camp, phase-III that was attended by hundreds of children. The NGO has established eight training centres at Jalozai camps. A session on the basic principles of life is in progress for 557 boys and 456 girls. The children paid rich tributes to the founder of Pakistan, and presented national anthem, songs and poems.

Addressing the children, chief guest Ziaullah Khan said that strong nations, taking inspiration from their leaders, stood firm in the face of any difficult situation.  He highlighted the importance of the celebration of the day and read out passages from speeches delivered by Jinnah on different occasions.

Imran Iqbal highlighted the character of the father of the nation.
