Oil and gas: PPL hits another discovery in Hala block

PPL is operator of the Hala Block with a 65% working interest along with its joint venture partner Mari Petroleum

KARACHI: Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) on Wednesday said it has found gas and condensate reserves in Hala Block, located in District Matiari of Sindh. As per initial testing the exploration well Fazl X-1 has shown flow of 20.3 million cubic feet per day of gas and 50 barrels per day of condensate. PPL is operator of the Hala Block with a 65% working interest along with its joint venture partner Mari Petroleum, which has 35% stake. This is the third discovery in the block, the company said.
