Pakistan-India series: PCB writes letter to BCCI for confirmation

Shahryar Khan asks secretary BCCI Anurag Thakur to make the series possible in December

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, Shahryar Khan, on Wednesday wrote a letter to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to confirm the December series in the UAE, reported Express News.

Shahryar wrote in the letter that 'Anurag Thakur, secretary BCCI, should make the series possible in December'.

He further stated that: "Politics is vulnerable to highs and lows and the sport of cricket should be kept away from it."

"Cricket is a tool to formulate peace between the countries."

He also highlighted the issue that BCCI has with Ten Sports.

"We have given the broadcasting rights to Ten Sports and Internationl Cricket Council (ICC) accepts the channel's bid."

Earlier, Shahryar said that the series between Pakistan and India was nearly impossible because of BCCI's resistance.

On ICC president Zaheer Abbas' suggestion to play the home series in India, Shahryar also stated that 'we are not going to play our home series in India'.

ahmed wani | 8 years ago | Reply Pakistan should play cricket with Azad Kashmir another country...whose chief minister should be trhe chief guest...by that way azad kashmir will also get some revenue and pakistan will also get some revenue....let us so called azad kashmiris play with pakistan...

Anwar | 8 years ago | Reply Dear Mr. Shaharyar: If both countries are shooting across the border is not possible it is not possible to have cricket match. It look like Pakistan is desperate to have a series with India anytime and anywhere. India, it seems does not care two bits about playing with Pakistan.

Abacus | 8 years ago | Reply I think the two Boards should meet and discuss - first start with the composite dialogue. Include working out a just and final solution for Kashmir (invite the Hurriyat too) - that is, hand over all of J&K to pakistan. At the same time, discuss the LOC violations and RAW involvement in Balochistan/Karachi/SWAT/KP etc, agree on conditions of withdrawal of Indian forces from Siachen and handing over of Sir Creek to pakistan. Also, discuss terms on which Saif Ali Khan will be handed over to pakistan for criminal indictment for his statements against pakistan. Terms for holidays for Hafiz Saeed and Dawood Ibrahim can form part of the next meeting. Then the dates for the next cricket tour can be finalised, while making clear that India is give 'Mauka' to pakistan team this time.

On the streets Pakistanis really don't want to play with India after all the bashing. But these PCB officials elected handpicked by our corrupt politicians have no sense of self respect. Please PCB don't beg anymore. If BCCI always does this because they are doing this for money then bring that to limelight.

Nazir Ahmed | 8 years ago | Reply This is the reason why nobody respect us......we don't want to do trade with India unless Kashmir issue is resolved, we don't wanna give MFN status to India until Kashmir issue is resolved, our "culture" is in danger because of Indian movies/dramas......but we want to play cricket with India (it is our necessity and not India's), we want our cricket players play in IPL, our actors want to act in Indian movies......isn't this enough to show us how confused are we..?......I am sure had it been India, they would have stopped any associations with us in all forms if slightest of things had happened, but we still pleads to them....pathetic situation...
