Iran hands over 162 deportees to Pakistan

Pakistanis were arrested by Iranian security forces for living in Iran without legal travel documents

Iranian security forces on Monday handed over 162 Pakistani nationals to Levies Forces at the Pak-Iran border in Chaghi District’s Taftan area, Radio Pakistan reported.

According to Levies officials, the Pakistanis were arrested by Iranian security forces for residing in Iran without legal travel documents.

Earlier this month, 188 Pakistani deportees were handed over to Pakistan by Iranian security forces who were also living in the country illegally.

Levies Forces confirmed that following initial inquiry, the deportees would be handed over to Federal Investigation Agency for further interrogation.

Over 257, 433 Pakistani immigrants have been deported from countries around the world over the past four years.
