Two traffic wardens among three killed in Karachi firing

The traffic wardens were on duty when they were shot at indiscriminately, says SP

KARACHI: At least three people, including two traffic police officials were killed in Karachi on Sunday.

“Two armed men riding a motorcycle opened indiscriminate fire on two traffic wardens, i.e. Sher Ali and Nizamuddin, deputed near Sunday Bazaar in Gulshan-e-Iqbal on Sunday evening,” said SP Abid Qaimkhani, adding “they received multiple bullets and died on the spot.”

Heavy contingents of law enforcement agencies arrived on the scene, Qaimkhani paused and added that the bodies were taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy.

Separately, 45–year-old Farooq was killed while his brother, 48-year-old Haroon got injured as they attempted to resist a robbery bid at their house in the Nazimabad locality, said DSP Zahid Hussain.
