Cooperation: ‘Punjab will help Gilgit-Baltistan revamp healthcare’

Salman said the Health Department would prepare a programme for capacity-building of medical staff in Gilgit-Baltistan

Advisor to Chief Minister on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique said on Friday the Punjab government would extend full cooperation to the government of Gilgit-Baltistan in revamping health services there.


He said the Health Department would prepare a programme for capacity-building of medical staff in Gilgit-Baltistan. He said the governor and the chief minister of Gilgit-Baltistan had recently met Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and sought cooperation in health sector.


He was talking to newsmen after a meeting with Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Secretary Tahir Husain. He said a list of medical equipment, missing facilities and need for trained human resources was being prepared to assess the status of health services in Gilgit-Baltistan.
